Following the success of Webinar #1 in which we introduced the VinUniversity Global Case Competition (VGCC), VinUniversity will hold Webinar #2 in which participants will get advice and coaching from our case writer Associate Professor Michael (Mike) Dixon on how to approach the case analysis for the competition.
Mike Dixon is an Associate Professor at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University (USA). Prior to joining Huntsman, Mike held faculty positions at the Ivey School of Business (Canada) and at the Graduate School of Business and Public Policy at the Naval Postgraduate School (USA). Mike received his PhD from Cornell University in 2011. Mike has been teaching using the case method and writing case studies for university teaching for many years. He has received multiple research and teaching awards, and several of his cases have won the best teaching case study awards in competitions organized by the Decision Sciences Institute.
In writing the case “VinFast Electric Vehicles: A Quest for the American Market”, Mike consulted extensively with faculty from Cornell University and VinUniversity and executives at VinFast and incorporated his expertise in case writing to develop a case that is challenging and intriguing for students from all disciplines and will be a great educational experience for all.
By joining this coaching session with Professor Dixon, applicants will have the chance to:
🔸Learn how to approach and devise an effective strategy for developing solutions for a case study
🔸Develop their planned submissions for the initial round (Round 1) and self-evaluate them based on the expectations of outcomes and assessment criteria
