Rohit Verma, PhD

Founding Provost and Professor, College of Business and Management

Professor Rohit Verma (Professor, Operations Technology and Information Management; School of Hotel Administration) is currently on leave from Cornell University to serve as the Founding Provost/Rector (Chief Academic Officer) at VinUniversity. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Dean of External Relations of Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (May 2016 – June 2019). Professor Verma is among the world’s top 2% most referenced researchers in the field of Business and Management. He is also a Fellow at the Decision Science Institute.

Edward Mclaughlin, PhD

Robert G. Tobin Emeritus Professor of Marketing, SC Johnson College of Business

Edward McLaughlin is the Robert G. Tobin Professor of Marketing Emeritus at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. He served as interim dean of Dyson from July 2020 to July 2021 and from June 2016 to June 2017. McLaughlin directed Dyson’s undergraduate business program, the largest undergraduate major at Cornell, for 20 years. He also served as the faculty director of the Food Executive Program (now in its 56th year) and directed Cornell’s Food Industry Management Program. He is a distinguished expert in the efficiency of food distribution systems who has worked with food industry companies, trade associations, and public policymakers over many decades.

Peng Liu, PhD

Associate Professor, SC Johnson College of Business

Peng Liu is the Singapore Tourism Board distinguished chair professor in Asian hospitality management at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and associate professor of real estate and finance at SC Johnson College of Business, Cornell University. Dr. Liu is an active researcher, and an editor of the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, the official journal of the American Real Estate Society.

Michael Dixon, PhD

Associate Professor of Operations Management, Jon M. Huntsman School of Business

Mike Dixon is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Prior to joining Huntsman, Mike held faculty positions at the Ivey School of Business in Canada and at the Graduate School of Business and Public Policy at the Naval Postgraduate School. Mike received his PhD (2011) from Cornell University, an MBA (2006) from the University of Utah, and BS (2002) from Utah Valley University.

Maurizio Trevisan, MD

Dean and Professor, College of Health Sciences

Dr. Maurizio Trevisan is a cardiovascular disease (CVD) epidemiologist. His main research interest is in CVD prevention through lifestyle changes. He has been engaged in a number of multi-center and international epidemiological collaborative studies. In his current position in Vietnam, he is focusing on Chronic Disease prevention. Dr. Maurizio Trevisan has published more than 250 publications in high-impact international journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Annals of Internal Medicine, and The New England Journal of Medicine.

Vu Anh Dzung, PhD

Founding Head and Associate Professor, Faculty of Arts and Sciences

Before working at VinUniversity, Dr. Vu Anh Dzung was the Founding Standing Vice-Rector of Vietnam Japan University – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Dean of the Faculty of International Business and Economics and Vice-Rector of the University of Economics and Business. With a PhD degree from the University of Cambridge, he has extensive experiences in different high-level positions such as Senior Manager, Marketing Director, and Consultant in prestigious companies and corporations such as Heineken, Tiger, UTStarcom Diageo, GSK, Cadbury, etc.. Dr. Dzung is also the co-founder of BrotherIMC, a company specializing in integrated communications.

Do Tho Truong, PhD

Assistant Professor, College of Engineering and Computer Science

Upon graduation from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Dr. Truong worked as a lecturer at the University of Transport and Communications. He completed his master’s degree in France and Spain and received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University. Dr. Truong has worked on various projects, inclduing NASA funded project called “Empirical Optimization of Additive Manufacturing” at the Additive Manufacturing Center, University of Louisville. He also worked on other projects funded by the US Air Force Research Lab and the National Institute of Health.

Jenny Kyunghwa Chung, PhD

Assistant Professor of Marketing, College of Business and Management

Dr. Jenny Chung’s research focuses on retail with specific interests in omnichannel consumer experiences and retail technology in the retail service context. She enjoys interdisciplinary research and collaborations with scholars in diverse fields. Her research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Consumer Studies, Clothing and Textiles Research Journal, and Korean System Dynamics Review.
